THE  UNVEILING  OF  THE  COSMETICALLY  RESTORED
LOCOMOTIVE  EUDLO  ON  18 MAY 2008

Local dignitaries perform the unveiling.

Clive Plater, leader of the restoration team, lifts off the covers.

Clive shows the Minister for Main Roads how to sound the whistle (compressed air was pumped into the boiler for the occasion).

The new engine shed is seen behind the locomotive.

Men who once worked on the loco recall their steam days.

As there was no bunker, coal was carried in bags.

The boiler fittings, showing two sand domes, a steam dome between them surmounted by two safety valves and a whistle, a chimney with diamond-pattern spark arrestor, and a colourful turbo-generator to power the headlight.

A replacement builder's plate was specially cast in England.

The outside frames and Walschaerts valve gear are visible here.

Cab fittings have been obtained, in case a full restoration to steam becomes feasible in the future.
