THE NEWLY-ACQUIRED
LOCOMOTIVES SHAY AND BLI BLI, IN THEIR PROTECTIVE SHELTERS AT THE
NAMBOUR HISTORICAL MUSEUM IN 2011

A new shed to provide protection for the locomotive from the weather was
erected in January 2011.

The hinged joint which secures the smokebox to the frame, whilst allowing
expansion forward as the boiler heats up, is seen at lower right.

It is hoped that, once the mechanical parts have been freed-up, Shay
will be able to be drawn out of its shed by a small diesel locomotive
when required for open-air display.

The 0-4-2T Bli Bli was relocated
from Muller Park at Bli Bli to the Nambour Historical Museum and repainted in July 2011.

It is hoped that a shot-gun chimney and
cylinder covers can be found to remedy the more obvious omissions.
